Stefan Willensdorfer appointed General Manager for IntercityHotel Graz Austria

Stefan Willensdorfer has been appointed as the General Manager of the new IntercityHotel Graz in Austria. In his new role he takes over the management of the pre-opening phase of the property. He will be responsible for the development of all areas of the hotel until the opening of the hotel in Styria and then take over the management in the company. The hotel will feature approximately 229 rooms and is set to open for autumn 2020.

IntercityHotel is a brand of Deutsche Hospitality and comprises over 40 hotels. The new IntercityHotel Graz in Finkengasse offers comfortable accommodation for the upper middle class as well as conference rooms, bar and restaurant on six floors. The property will stand as a mixed-use concept with the SMARTments student brand with 187 student apartments in the immediate vicinity of the main train station. The project developer is the GBI group of companies. Like all IntercityHotels of the new generation, the hotel bears the signature of the Italian architect and designer Matteo Thun.

As the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Willensdorfer will help to reinforce the success enjoyed by this Deutsche Hospitality brand in Austria. The 44-year-old comes with years of industry experience. He began his Manager On Duty at the Sofitel & Novotel Vienna Airport and went on to gain further experience in a number of roles in the sales field. Prior to his latest appointment he served as General Manager and Head of Sales roomz Austria in Roomz Graz. 

Stefan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management from Bad Leonfelden College. He also completed his Master of Business Administration at the London Metropolitan University. Joachim Marusczyk, Founding Managing Director, IntercityHotel GmbH said in a statement that Stefan Willensdorf’s motivation and passion for the hospitality industry convinced the company to appoint him for the role. He also shared that Stefan’s industry expertise forms the perfect framework for the growth of IntercityHotel in Austria and for the successful start of the new hotel in Graz.
