Stranded NRIs consider visiting Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka for avoiding residency issues

Non-resident Indians, businessmen and multinational employees trapped in India due to the second wave of Covid-19 are aiming to visit countries for a short period of time such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka or even Laos to steer clear of residency issues that might cause tax complications.


As per the current regulations, anyone staying in India for more than 182 days is accountable to pay domestic taxes.
