Strong wind and heavy rain forecast for UK

Weather experts have predicted that 80mph winds and heavy rain is likely to hit several parts of UK on Saturday.

 

 

The yellow alert for wind and rain for London and Southern England, East Anglia and South Wales have been forecast.

 

 

Rain warnings have been issued for northeastern and eastern Scotland for Saturday and Sunday.

 

 

The Met Office has warned for potential flying debris and high waves as the wind strength is expected to be dangerous that can whip up large waves and lift unsecured objects.

 

 

The strong winds are likely to hit Coastal southeast England, the Isle of Wight and towards Hampshire.

 

 

A huge number of planned bonfires and firework displays are expected in the UK at this time of the year. The areas, which will be hit by strong winds, may see tiles blown down, power outages and damages to trees.

 

 

The Met Office warning is from 4 am to 4 pm. Winds are likely to ease through post afternoon.

 

 

Road, rail, air and ferry journeys are supposed to be disrupted due to the strong winds. There is also a chance of flooding for homes and businesses and deep floodwater might pose a risk to lives. The driving conditions may also get tough.

 

 

The Eastern Scotland is likely to face 40mm of rain across Aberdeenshire eastern Moray and northern Angus while Easter Ross and Caithness are likely to hit by 80 mm of rain.

 

 

Surf forecasters have said that waves could reach 22ft height on Saturday afternoon. People have been warned to stay away from coasts. People have also been asked to refrain from taking photographs during the mentioned period as this could be risky for them.
