São Paulo has wombed mystic beauties such as Hilda Hilst, young prodigies of soccer like Kaká, and subsuming appetising delicacies produced by chefs like Alex Atala. This is a place that is swarmed with amazing talents. Beyond this, the Latin American City is a marvel in the face of the blooming paradigm of urban landscape.
It is always a pleasure to explore the city within the city vis-à-vis places to get lodged up in reverie. Of serenity. Of beauty. And whatnot. These four places are amazingly magical to stay in:
Tivoli Mofarrej São Paulo Hotel
Lodged in the cultural capital of South America, this is a 5-star family hotel. This hotel, located in the affluent Jardins neighbourhood, is a suburban lagoon. Brimming with 218 rooms, ranging from deluxe rooms to deluxe rooms with city views and more. There are numerous rooms that overlook the grandeur of the city with posh amenities such as king-size beds, Victorian bathtubs, wine cellars, and more.
Apart from this, there are the facilities of spa treatment as well. Grounded in holistic care, offering rejuvenating therapies and sensory journeys using local and organic ingredients. Each Tivoli Spa offers its own unique calming atmosphere, from Eastern-inspired rooms at Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Algarve Resort to elegant spaces at Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort.
How to Reach?
The hotel is 28 kilometres from Guarulhos Airport and 9 kilometres from Congonhas Airport. Since Congonhas Airport is located in the heart of Brazil’s financial district, getting there by bus or underground is also an easy option.
Fazenda Catuçaba
The serene air translates into a melliflous tune and eventually blends into birdsong and ethereal solitude. Nestled between coffee plantations and the surrounding 700 hectares of protected forests, this peaceful retreat is a peaceful haven between man and the natural world. This retreat, which was first established in 1850 and is still run by the descendants of the original builders, who left a lasting legacy of love and connection to the land. With its Brazilian furnishings and antique Peroba Rosa wood floors, the lake house, which is situated next to a 4-hectare lake, provides a private haven for those who enjoy the outdoors. A sensory experience of the earth is provided for visitors by an abundance of organic produce, including persimmons and greens.
How to Reach?
To reach Fazenda Catuçaba from the airport, Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport is just a 2.5-hour drive away. From Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, a helicopter transfer can also be arranged.
Situated in the heart of the Brazilian metropolis, the opulent Rosewood São Paulo harbours a hidden rooftop garden and an infinity pool inspired by enormous rainforests, offering a charming view of the city below. The centrepiece of the room is a penthouse and a double-height lounge with large windows that invite in views of the cityscape. Subdued elements like natural wood panelling and friendly scattered seating blend in with more striking features like a gilded bronze ceiling and a soaring marble staircase to create an opulent yet cosy feeling of a home away from home. The walls of the Crystal Room are covered in 400 crystals of white quartz. This place is utilised for private one-on-one meditation sessions and reflexology treatments. The Crystal Room is the spa’s main attraction; rows of Brazilian white quartz arranged in the shape of pointed towers line the room. The hotel’s 160 guestrooms and suites combine Italian architectural features with the stunning natural surroundings of Brazil. This design is enhanced by the Jean Nouvel-designed Mata Atlântica Tower, a vertical garden.
How to Reach?
There are two main airport options: São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Congonhas-São Paulo Airport (CGH). Depending on traffic, a taxi to GRU usually takes 45 minutes or less. A Uber or Lyft takes about 20 minutes for CGH, which is closer to the city centre, which is considerably a better option.
