Taiwan is set to pay tourists to visit

Chen Chien-jen, Taiwan’s premier disclosed on Thursday that for 2023, the plan of the government is to bring in a minimum 6 million tourists. In order to attain this target, to almost 500,000 tourists, Taiwan will be providing 5,000 New Taiwan dollars and 20,000 New Taiwan dollars to around 90,000 tour groups.


Chang Shi-chung, the Tourism Bureau Director-General, has said that the allowances will be allocated via numerous promotional events in 2023.


Chang explained that foreign tourists who are given NT$5,000 will not get it until they turn up. In an electronic ticketing card, it will be stored which can be made use of to pay regarding accommodation, food, and other expenses related to travel during their time here.


Also, domestic and foreign travel agencies will be given incentives that would help in boosting up the Taiwan tourism.


Taiwan is looking to plea to the visitors from all the main markets of the world like South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, America, Europe, Hong Kong and Macao with the help of this program.


Together, 5.3 billion New Taiwan dollars were sanctioned to be allocated from 2022’s tax surplus for the three-year plan.


Besides the monetary incentives allocated to the tourists, the Taiwan government will be using the allocated money to help the hotel employees as well in terms of their salaries. Hoteliers will receive a 5,000 New Taiwan dollar bonus per month, for each new employee hired.
