Tamil Nadu has definite plans to revive the tourism sector

Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Department SandeepNandurisaid that the State government has definite plans to revive the tourism sector and the department’s aim is to attract tourists of all age groups to the State.

He said that the state tourism sector was hit harshly due to Covid-19. The tourism department is now focusing only on the traditional sectors like spiritual tourism and aims to make Tamil Nadu the tourism destination for everyone.

For this purpose, the focus is on other sectors like water sports tourism, 3D mapping in places like Mahabalipuram and Tiruvalluvar statue in Kanniyakumari which were hitherto unexplored in the State.One of the major announcements by Tamil Naduis to boost tourism with a new policy.

Nandurisaid that they have prepared the Draft Tamil Nadu Tourism Policy and have sent it to Chief Secretary V Iraianbu. The Chief Secretary has in turn given his recommendations and the final policy will be released soon by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
