TAT and Huawei Technologies sign MoU

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Company Ltd. has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Digital Transformation and Innovation Development for Smart Tourism.”


This agreement is aimed toward boosting the Thai tourism industry with the help ofcutting-edge technologies comprising 5G, cloud, AR/VR, AI and for creating a smart digital tourism platform and an innovative tourism ecosystem.


The MoU was signed by Yuthasak Supasorn, the TAT Deputy Tourism and Sports Minister, the TAT Governor and the CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Mr. Abel Deng. At the signing service, Mr. Jun Zhang, the Vice President of Huawei Asia-Pacific and the officials of TAT among others were also present.


The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports said that as per Thailand’s 20-year National Strategy (2018-2037), tourism will play a pivotal part for the country’s workable growth. With Thailand looking forward to uplift its tourism industry and intensify its competitive advantage in the market, it is imperative to initiate groundbreaking technologies for boosting tourism.


The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports said that he is happy that Huawei is reaping the benefits of this opportunity for propelling Thai tourism via 5G technology backing by executing new applications, multimedia and facilities evolving from the future of high-speed networks for boosting tourism marketing.


‘Meaningful Travel’ will make Thai and foreign tourists conscious regarding Thai tourism products and services.
