Telangana hoping for increase in domestic and international tourists

Telangana Tourism is hoping for a surge of 20 per cent in foreign tourist arrivals and 30 per cent increase in domestic tourists to Telangana by the end of 2023 compared to the levels before the pandemic, stated a senior government official. Telangana witnessed domestic tourist influxes of 3,20,00,620. International tourist numbers totaled 5,917 in 2021.

For this year, domestic arrivals surged 3,95,53,865 and international arrivals increased 35,945 up till July.

During 2019, prior to the pandemic, domestic arrivals in Telangana was 8,30,35,894. The number of foreign travellers was 3,23,326.

There is already an increase in the number of foreign travelers coming to Telangana. There has been a growth in domestic tourists this year at the same time, said the official.

Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Managing Director B Manohar said that their objective is to grow international tourist arrivals by 20 per cent, as well as by the end of 2023, domestic tourist entrances by 30 per cent.

Telangana Tourism is also going for digital campaigns for luring tourists from both international and domestic sectors to various attractions located in the state.
