G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Tourism has assured to improve Simhachalam, Annavaram along with other places in Andhra Pradesh as temple tourism destinations. The minister told a delegation from Tours and Travel Association of Andhra (TTAA) that the Center envisages great potential for promoting Vijayawada and Tirupati as the hubs of temple tourism.
TTAA Chairman O Naresh Kumar and K Vijay Mohan came across the Union Minister at the Visakhapatnam Airport and submitted a representation.
Minister Reddy promised his full assistance for developing tourism in Andhra Pradesh. He said that he has already started an enterprise for improving Simhachalam and Annavaram devasthanams. He said that he will also appeal to the Railways for more coaches for Araku train soon.
The association leaders are looking for growth and publicity of the ignored Shakti Peethas at Draksharama and Pithapuram in East Godavari district, which are among the 18 most significant Shakti Peethas in the world. There is a lot of prospective for attracting tourists in these places.
The leaders urged the Minister to mull over improving the oldest Sun Temple in India which is located at Arasavalli in Srikakulam along with Sri Kurmam Temple, which is the tortoise avatar of Lord Vishnu. These temples will be developed with pilgrim amenities and improved divine experiences.
