For foreign tourists, Thailand has declared a tentative new requirement to enter the country even though further explanation on this is required.
On Friday, Dr. Chakrarat Pittayawonganon who is the Director of the Bureau of Mental Health at the Department of Disease Control, is all set to introduce a new requirement to the already tight policy of the government of restricting entry for foreigners and tourists who are willing to obey with strict and demanding criteria and also pay for 14 days in the growing Alternative State Quarantine system.
The announcement is coming at a time when the economy of this country is losing its balance from the continuing effects of the close down of the foreign tourism industry of the country which an economic think tank and could be costing the kingdom’s economy over ฿8 billion a day.
Also, reports from local populations in various tourist hotspots are increasingly showing strong resistance to the return of foreign tourists in spite of the monetary damage that is being caused.
