To win tourists from China, Thailand invited around 10,000 Chinese tourists to feast in Thailand and has broken the Guinness World Record for the biggest sticky rice mango banquet ever.

In an event themed “We Care About You” the dessert featured 6,000 mangoes and 15 tones of sticky rice held by the tourism panel of the National Legislative Assembly in coordination with the Association of Thai Travel Agents

Chinese tourists were invited to enjoy the most famous Thai dessert along with Thai food and fruits as well as Thai-Chinese performances.

Through this event the organizers want to build up a good image.

Pichit Kuandachakupt, chairman of the committee of religion, art, culture and tourism of the National Legislative Assembly said that there was a drop in Chinese tourists to Thailand due to this there were efforts to improve the country’s safety standards letting them know that Thailand cares about them.

After the deadly ferry sinking in July 2018 killing 47 Chinese tourist the arrivals went down.

In December the yearly arrivals of Chinese tourists for 2018  10 million and the monthly arrivals were lower than that during the same period last year.
