If all goes well, then Thailand might reopen for fully vaccinated foreign visitors by mid-October. The Thai government is aiming to restart its tourism industry when the time is ripe. Thailand’s tourism sector was greatly affected by the pandemic, and restarting it will bring a ray of hope for numerous people associated with tourism.

The Thai Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, said that fully vaccinated foreign travelers and Thai citizens will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine or other restrictions.

The Prime Minister said, “I know this decision comes with some risk because, when we open the country, there will be an increase in infections, no matter how good our precautions.”

The Thai PM said that when the economic needs of the people are taken into consideration, then the preferred time is surely a calculated risk. This decision would be reconsidered only if a serious situation comes to the fore in the coming days. Thailand had previously planned to reopen the country in January, but that did not happen that time due to various circumstances.
