Traisulee Traisaranakul, Thai Deputy Government Spokesperson said that Thailand has witnessed a speedy revival in its tourism segment, with 5.57 million foreign tourist influxes documented this year between Jan 1 and Mar 18.
Thailand is optimistic that there would be around 6 million foreign tourist entrances during the first quarter of this year with the vivacious tourism sector of the country having gathered impetus, stated a government representative.
The Southeast Asian country is predicting between 25 million to 30 million foreign tourists to arrive this year, with expenditure of 1.5 trillion baht ($44 billion), said Thai government spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri.
Thailand Finance Minister ArkhomTermpittayapaisith also supposes that the country’s economy would surge by 3-4% this year.
He emphasized the significance of collaboration between financial and fiscal policy organizations to attain growth and permanence.
With Thailand preparing for an election in May, Arkhom recommended that government expenditure should carry on normally, but there might be some influence on new outlay schemes before a new government is fashioned.
Arkhom also presumes the baht to stay unstable, influenced by outside factors, but its changes have remained within a range witnessed previously this year.
