Thailand’s tourism prospect is repeatedly being reinvigorated.

The record of foreign arrivals has now surpassed 4 million for this year.

Many agencies are now thinking about tourism promotion methods that would lure travellers to the Kingdom for the remaining part of the year.

The current objective is to witness 10 million foreign tourist arrivals this year.

Anucha Burapachaisri, the Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson said that more than 4 million foreign tourists visited Thailand this year till now.

This figure is likely to go up to 4.5 million within this month, thereby increasing the end-of-year government objective regarding the influx of foreign tourists to 10 million.

The top five source countries for tourists visiting Thailand in respective order are: Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore and the UK.

To motivate tourism, on August 19th this year, the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) permitted foreign tourists to prolong their stays, to inspire travel and to grow their expenditure.

In effect from October 1st, 2022 to March 31st, 2023, the duration of stay for residents of countries excused from a visa obligation has been overextended from 30 to 45 days.

The stopover for people who apply for visa on arrival is prolonged from 15 to 30 days.
