The 2020 – A no travel year

Recently, the World Health Organization has announced that the outbreak of coronavirus had reached the level of a pandemic, with “alarming levels of spread and severity.”


Almost instantly, the travel ground world over experienced a sudden halt, as countries closed their international borders, airlines canceled all flights and cities around worldwide went under lockdown situation. With time, the losses in terms to life, health and livelihood of the commoners continued to mount. The massive blow to the travel sector and all who depend on it was just terrible.


In April 2020, international arrivals at United States airports dropped by 98 percent compared to 2019 and stayed at that level for many months. As per the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the global tourism economy is hoped to get smaller in size by about 80 percent when all the data for 2020 is in.
