The arrival of NZ’s most important tourism event

For maximum number of well-known international trade events on the tourism calendar of New Zealand, the registration has opened. TRENZ will return after four years in full to greet the travel buyers from abroad back to Aotearoa as they meet with the leading tourism operators of New Zealand to talk about business for the forthcoming seasons.


For the event, Ōtautahi Christchurch is the host city which will be arranged at the first-rate Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre. It would start from 8th May and will continue till 11th May, 2023. Since 2019, it will be the first full TRENZ to be held and the first in Christchurch since 2006.


For the four days, the event is anticipated to generate $174 of economic impact a minute, with ongoing benefits to the city and the tourism industry of New Zealand.


TIA Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram, said that TRENZ is a chance for the tourism industry of New Zealand to showcase to the world the way it has changed and re-orientated in recent years, with the main aim on regenerative tourism. Rebecca added that more and more, their visitors have high hopes that their industry will be acting sustainably, and they wait for to see a lot of curiosity from the foreign Buyers in their many sustainable tourism offerings.


The event programme will continue for four days consecutively and will feature opportunities to hear from the leaders of the industry about the shape of the tourism industry of New Zealand and plans to build a high value tourism industry for the country.
