The governor requests commitment to boost tourism

Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, has urged the stakeholders of his administration’s commitment to expand the tourism as part of the combined initiations to discover more economic opportunities.

During an engagement with stakeholders on the tourism master plan of the state, the governor gave the assurance.
The governor’s representative and Commissioner for Special Duties, Engr. Osasere M. Evbuomwan, stated that Edo state is designing sub-master plans across various industries with a mission to provide sector-specific tool kits that will assist in making the reality of the Making Edo Great Again agenda in summarizing a blueprint for sustainable improvement.

Osasere M. Evbuomwan said that this is a chance to share the master plan that has been designed and get advice from everyone on what they consider that the state need to do based on where they are in the current context.

In developing a citizen-driven master plan, they want to work with the external stakeholders. They believe the people are the drivers to attain sustainable development. Their vision is to reconstruct the basics of Edo’s economy by tying together the possibilities of their heritage in terms of arts and culture. They are quite decided to regenerate the creative space that inspired their forebears to make valuable artefacts in time past.

They are also keen on refreshing their infrastructure to help and to sustain this new economy.
