President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, on Sunday, inaugurated the state level tribal conference at Singrampur gram panchayat in Damoh district.
He laid the foundation stone for the conservation work of Singaurgarh Fort. President Shri Kovind explained that along with Made in India, handmade in India should be promoted as well. He added that our tribal brothers and sisters have amazing skills related to handicrafts. Initiations should be made to provide a good price and wide market opportunities to their handicraft products.
President Shri Kovind also mentioned that Singaur region can be developed as a National Tribal Hub. He stated that with the preservation works undertaken for the Singaurgarh Fort, this area will soon turn out to be an important region in terms of tourism in the future. Also, it will offer employment to the locals. He added that better work for saving the heritage of Chambal, Malwa, Bundelkhand, Mahakaushal, Baghelkhand should be initiated. He said that Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, (Independent Charge) Shri Prahlad Patel should support this direction. The President said that certainly the six divisions of Indian archaeology that have been newly constructed will do meaningful work in this direction.
President Shri Kovind explained that we discover so many things from our tribal fraternity. They always work towards making the society even more united. In their community, there is no prejudice between women and men. Hence, their male-female ratio is much better than the general population. The tribal community prefers groups over individuals. Cooperation is encouraged instead of competition. Their lifestyle gives the highest priority to nature. There is no difficulty in tribal life and every one works hard and is respected for it. The President said that to connect with the roots of humanity, the life values of the tribal community must be inculcated in your lifestyle.
