The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China, has included the Yuyuan art and lifestyle block of Changning District in its second batch of nation-level tourism and leisure blocks.
The block at the center of Yuyuan Road and its famous and cultural district is the best example of urban regeneration.
At this archaic and historical-cultural block, many art venues and small shops are situated, aiming of culture, art and lifestyle.
Also, it is the erstwhile home of Qian Xuesen, missile and space scientist.
It arrests the spirit of neighboring culture and tourism innovation, as every year at the block, many cultural and artistic events are held. The second batch lists 57 blocks.
The recreation and touristic areas must have distinctive cultural and regional characteristics together with unique cultural experiences, tourism and public services.
Also, these areas must provide catering, sightseeing, entertainment, shopping, lodging and leisure.
For such blocks, the criteria released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the accommodations together can meet the demands of the tourism and leisure sector in terms of tourists and residents.
