The One Destination Partners with Global Investors to Elevate Da Lat, Vietnam, as a Premier Eco-Tourism Destination : What You Need To Know

Saturday, November 9, 2024

The One Destination, in partnership with Singapore-based Terne Holdings and BTS Bernina Private Equity Fund, has announced a landmark investment agreement to construct Vietnam’s first ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) real estate complex in Da Lat. This transformative project, Haus Da Lat, is set to establish Da Lat as a pioneering hub for sustainable and eco-conscious tourism, blending luxury and environmental responsibility within one of Vietnam’s most picturesque destinations.

A New Era of Sustainable Tourism for Da Lat

Spanning five hectares, Haus Da Lat will be built with a total investment of 1,700 billion VND (around $68 million USD), situated beside Da Lat’s serene Xuan Huong Lake—a renowned natural landmark. Designed by famed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the project is intended to become a heritage symbol for Da Lat, a city with a rich 130-year history, while placing Vietnam firmly on the global map of ESG-focused real estate.

International investors are drawn to Da Lat’s unique charm. Known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” Da Lat offers visitors a mountain climate, scenic pine forests, tranquil lakes, and vibrant flower fields, making it a natural masterpiece in tropical Vietnam. This project is designed to reflect the city’s natural beauty and heritage, creating a space that resonates with the values of eco-tourism and sustainable development.

Enhancing Accessibility for Eco-Conscious Travelers

Da Lat’s appeal as a travel destination is set to grow even further, supported by recent infrastructure enhancements. In June 2024, Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport upgraded Lien Khuong Airport to international status, which is projected to spur Da Lat’s tourism industry significantly. The airport expansion aims to attract over 10 million visitors by the end of 2024, including 550,000 international tourists. This surge in tourism and improved connectivity positions Da Lat as a key player in Vietnam’s tourism economy, especially appealing to travelers with a preference for eco-friendly and socially responsible destinations.

A Vision for ESG-Centric Real Estate

The ESG real estate trend is taking hold globally, and Haus Da Lat is set to lead Vietnam’s journey into this arena. Built to meet ESG standards, the complex will use sustainable building materials, energy-efficient technology, and low-impact design, aligning with global sustainability goals. This approach is expected to attract travelers who value destinations that prioritize environmental and social responsibility, supporting long-term value for future generations.

A Strong Partnership for a Green Future

Terne Holdings and BTS Bernina Private Equity Fund, which have strong commitments to eco-friendly investments, are pioneering partners in bringing this vision to life. Their investment in Haus Da Lat underscores a shared mission to protect Da Lat’s natural beauty while setting a benchmark for sustainable tourism in Vietnam. Caroline Lee, President of Terne Holdings, remarked, “Together with The One Destination and BTS, we’re proud to contribute to the preservation of Da Lat as a historical and natural treasure for Vietnam.”

Meeting the Demand for Sustainable Tourism

Vietnam’s rapidly growing economy and the expansion of its middle class have spurred interest in sustainable tourism, particularly among younger, eco-conscious travelers. The project also aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a clear commitment to environmentally responsible development that minimizes impact while enhancing local community value. As one of the first projects of its kind in Vietnam, Haus Da Lat will serve as a model for future developments across the country and the region.

Creating a Lasting Tourism Legacy for Da Lat

Haus Da Lat is expected to attract five international brands, creating an iconic eco-friendly destination that aligns with Da Lat’s character as a natural heritage site. As The One Destination leads this transformation, Vietnam’s position as a desirable destination for sustainable tourism grows stronger, making Haus Da Lat an exciting addition to the country’s tourism landscape.
