The Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) promised to invigorate the tourism sector of the country.

The country’s Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco met with important stakeholders in tourism in Central Europe to deliberate on measures to attract more tourists to the Philippines.

Frasco said that they are targeting to lure more German residents on their shores. After nearly three years of hindrances and the global pandemic playing havoc, it can finally be said that the worst times are practically over, and they have succeeded and endured. Now, the Philippines is flourishing and all set for collaborations. Frasco added that they are prepared to receive everyone.

In 2022, the Philippines witnessed a total of 39,013 German tourists, along with 23,949 French, 19,306 Dutch, 11,092 Swiss and 8,964 Belgian people visiting the country.

Frasco said that speaking about this side of the world, while many are experiencing winter, the Philippines is just about to announce the official onset of summer. This is the best time to discover places boasting of warm sunshine and beaches which the Philippines will make available for tourists.

As stated by the DOT, German tourists use an average of 14.50 nights in the Philippines, mostly for vacation and business, while they prefer visiting Cebu, Palawan, and Bohol.
