The Secret Garden is transformed by Amilla Maldives for Easter

Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences has announced that being inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden, they are planning to introduce an enhancing experience for their guests.



They are reflecting their heartfelt commitment to sustainability and resourcefulness. Amilla’s magical interpretation will take their guests on a path of discovery, with themes of sustainability, renewal, rebirth and wellness woven into the festivities.

4 – 24 April 2022 will see Amilla Maldives run this program. The celebrations will begin on World Health Day, where the guests are invited to Barolo  the resort’s open-air Italian restaurant, enjoy a unique wellness menu showcasing nourishing, fresh ingredients grown in Amilla’s organic and hydroponic gardens.


Javvu Spa will also offer rejuvenating botanical treatments featuring island-grown ingredients, from aromatic flowers such as jasmine, wild marigolds and hibiscus to therapeutic herbs including lemongrass and mint.

13-18 April the resort will welcome Premier League winner and former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood to the resort to lead a complimentary football masterclass for kids.


He share his skills and techniques at a daily two-hour boot camp, before hosting a closing ceremony to present participants with a personal certificate and medal.

World Art Day on 15 April coincides with Good Friday. Then the guests are encouraged to turn their creative skills and imagination to leaf papermaking in the ‘Secret Garden Shed’ and a sand art class by visiting Maldivian sand artist, Lia. She will present four art shows a week, with themes varying from ‘The Secret Garden’ to traditional Maldivian folk tales.

The younger guests will be invited on an epic Amilla Easter Quest to explore the island’s natural wonders, and discover exiting surprises. A delectable gala dinner in the evening will be held in evening.

Easter Monday celebrations will continue with a colourful pop-up Maldivian ‘village’ showcasing the island nation’s history to commemorate World Heritage Day.

On 21 April, traditional Maldivian lacquer art, storytelling, juggling classes and an ‘Amilla Creations’ will honor the International Creativity Day.

On 24th April the Easter programme concludes with ‘Nature Bunny’ leading crafts, Easter egg-tossing competitions and a delicious cocktail evening.
