Any business recovery that the tourism operators of China were expecting this summer vacation has got little bit frustrated after experiencing the recent outburst of Covid-19 said to have originated in Nanjing.
In a bid to restrain this transmission, all of the 31 provincial-level jurisdictions in the mainland China had issued notices by Monday suggesting visitors not to indulge in domestic travel. Few provincial governments earmarked all the medium- and high-risk regions, as others asked people to keep away from all interprovincial travel.
With zero-tolerance approach of China to the virus outbreak, domestic tourism once again looks to bear the brunt of this latest outbreak, the way it did in 2020 when the country incorporated widespread lockdowns after the virus spread in the central Wuhan, according to analysts and industry insiders.
