The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is working nonstop to luretourists from China after the Asian country lessened restraints regarding travel for nine of its southern cities.

ChuwitSirivejkul,TAT Executive Director for East Asia said that the agency is generatingconsciousness among Chinese tourists so that they could be lured to Thailand once their country reopensfully.

Sirivejkulbelievesthat China’s move to simplify travel constraints in nine southern cities – Beijing,Dalian, Nanjing, Chengdu, Xiamen,Shenzhen, Guangzhou,Shanghai and Fuzhou would assist Thailand in attracting Chinese travelers to the country.

Sirivejkulsaid that many Chinese entrepreneurs and students have been allowed to get visas to travel overseas.
Even if flight charges from Thailand to China have increased from 2,000 Yuan to 40,000-60,000 Yuanowing to China’s policy to check the number of flights each week, it means thattourists from China can enjoy an extended stay in Thailand, saidSirivejkul.

He suggested that tourists from China can fly to Thailand by means of Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, since the airline presentlyoperatesregular flights from there to Thailand which costs 2,000 Yuan.

Sirivejkulsaid that the amount of Chinese tourists to Thailand went up to 20,000 in May compared to the previous 300 per month.

TAT also has the intention to appealto elder tourists who comprise 32 per cent of the total Chinese visitors to Thailand.
