The tourism ministers BRICS talks about green growth

On Monday, tourism ministers from BRICS countries got associated in detailed discussions on topics like sustainable development, green growth, and revival, during a meeting arranged through video link.


China’s minister of culture and tourism, Hu Heping, said at the meeting that BRICS countries like Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, have exotic tourism resources and in the landscape of world tourism, they play important role.


By observing a boom in tourist demand, steady mutual exchanges and enormous supportive potentials and prospects among the BRICS countries, Hu urged for initiations to improve the cooperation mechanisms for tourism further and increase exchanges among administrative departments, research institutes, industry associations and market entities of the BRICS countries.


Hu advised for efforts to conduct pragmatic collaboration and make the revival of tourism more flexible, adding that green principles should be supported and joint initiations should be put in to boost sustainable development of tourism.


Also, Hu requested for innovation-driven, digitalized and smart tourism development as well as honesty and inclusiveness with intent to share greater number of opportunities with more promising economies and developing countries.


Calling over the cooperations among the BRICS countries in the recent years in terms of tourism and admitting the importance of the recovery of the sector, the ministers taking part in the event explained that they would take solid measures to promote a flexible, inclusive and sustainable tourism industry.
