In 2022, the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic is growing at a lightning speed by setting yet another record in this year.

July witnessed maximum tourists coming to the Dominican Republic in a single month in the entire history of this Caribbean country, surpassing even the level of December 2021.

David Collado, Dominican Republic Tourism Minister shared the news this week. It means at present, the Dominican Republic is on pace to surpass 7 million tourists, the data that would be in an all-time record as well.

Around 735,064 visitors were seen in July in the Dominican Republic. This was a 24 percent rise over July 2019, and a 30 percent leap compared to the same month 2021.

Collado said that he did it again. They have achieved an unexpected target in terms of tourist arrival to the Dominican Republic.

In the country’s history, July 2022 and December 2021 are the only months which welcomed over 700,000 tourists.

The United States carries on controlling visitor arrivals to the country, followed by Colombia, Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain, Cuba and the United Kingdom.

If in this was the speed continues, this year will be the best year of tourism in the history of Dominican Republic, Collado said.

Till now, in 2022, the Dominican Republic has greeted a total of 4.182 million visitors.
