The UAE has developed a complete strategy for growing the input of the tourism sector to the national gross domestic product (GDP) to Dh450 billion by 2031, said its top officials.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, said that the strategy aims to procure investments in the tourism division valued at Dh100 billion and attract 40 million hotel guests to the region. At the moment, the general contribution of tourism in the GDP is worth Dh177 billion.
While delivering his keynote address during the induction of 9th Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum, Al Marri underlined that the UAE has developed a tourism set-up and expanded the sector which is additionally advanced by the National Tourism Strategy 2031 launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai.
Al Marri stated that the strategy has been applied to strengthen the UAE’s position as the most striking tourist destination worldwide with the multiplicity and exceptional advantages of the seven emirates.
