The UAE-Israel tourism market has continued to flourish amid ongoing developments between the two countries. In the latest move, the countries have agreed to open a ‘green corridor’ – ensuring free travel between the two provided residents are vaccinated.

The Israeli Embassy announced the news on Twitter, that the agreement is “another great achievement” for the relationship between the two countries. Travel to Abu Dhabi – the UAE’s capital city – had already allowed quarantine-free travel for Israel travellers since August this year.

Since the UAE and Israel normalised relations in September 2020, there has been a range of new initiatives and agreements to further bolster the collaboration of the two economies. As early as September 18, three days after the Abraham Accords, the UAE opened its first kosher restaurant.

By October, Abu Dhabi hotels were given the ability to be given official kosher meal certification. Kosher dining is a vital part of the normalisation efforts between Israel and the UAE as many Israelis follow a strict kosher diet.By the end of October 2020, visa-free travel was announced between the two countries. More than 250,000 Israel tourists have visited the UAE since September 2020 after the latest development.

Last week, during a meeting with the UAE’s Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs during the Israel pavilion’s opening, Razovzov said on the occasion of the first anniversary of signing the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement, it can be affirmed that impressive success has been achieved over the past period by the two nations especially at the tourist level.

He mentioned that despite the movement restrictions associated with the pandemic, the tourist exchanges between the two nations witnessed significant momentum and around 250,000 Israeli tourists have visited the UAE over the past period. He said that leaders are expecting cooperation in this field to further grow over the coming period.
