The US will shortly restart consistent in-person tourist appointments right from the month of September.

The US Embassy of India said that the US mission to India is happy to declare that they will commence steady in-person appointments of tourist visa in September this year. Those were earlier scheduled have been canceled now.

The US Embassy said that the placeholder appointments having being canceled now can re-enter the scheduling method for booking systematic appointments. Appointments are available through 2023. The Embassy has recommended applicants to go through the website for checking availability.

India had come up as the fifth biggest source country in 2021 with regard to international visitors to the US, which is an increase of up to five places from the times before the pandemic in 2019, in spite of the Delta variantthat caused many countries bringing in restrictions on outbound travel.

The US witnessed almost 2.2 crore international visitors in 2021, which is a drop of 72% compared to 2019. As per reports, India was the third largest foreign source country, with 4.3 lakh visitors after Colombia and the United Kingdom.

If spending by foreign visitors in the USis to be considered, Indians grabbed the third highest spot. Even though the 4.3 lakh visitors from India were 71% lesser than 2019,it is anticipated that travel will develop speedily with the US easing the pre-departure testing obligation for fully inoculated Indian travelers.
