A recent poll has discovered that nearly 55% of domestic attendees are really eager to ensure that their journey time is less than an hour. This is due to the fact that international tourists are far more flexible with about 32% wishing to travel for at least ten hours.
These figures are derived from a poll that was taken amongst 120 Barbican clients.
They clearly indicate that while distances need to be kept short for domestic events people are far more open minded when it comes to going abroad.
The head of events of Barbican, Jackie Boughton mentioned that more than ten hour-long travel is actually happy news for international events arriving in London. It places a major portion of the world in their catchment area especially when it realized than 52% were willing to travel over 6 hours.
He then went on to add that thanks to the excellent links of Barbican to the international airports of London that are expected to improve further with the Elizabeth line’s opening are ideally placed to host events from all across the world.
The research was conducted amongst over 120 Barbican clients during autumn 2017.
Nearly 53% of respondents included corporate bookers, 21% association and 26% agency.
