The bilateral trade between the US & NZ in 2021 worth about $18.5 billion. This was an annual growth averaging of 5% in the last 15 years. For New Zealand, US travellers became the third-largest tourism market. It formed almost 10% of the total arrivals before the COVID appearance.

Ardern said that travellers are now pre-planning their visits quite early months while choosing New Zealand as their summer destination. She said that this is the right time to get prominent in the US market and informing the Americans that now we are open for business as well as travel.
