Thunderstorms add misery with travel chaos, floods and power cut

Brits have been warned beforehand with a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms. Right after that Brits have been battered by overnight rains. The country was already suffering from power cuts, travel disruption and thunderstorms.


Earlier the country has faced a significant amount of trouble due to excessive heat. Widespread flooding in homes and businesses amongst the travel chaos has shaken the brits.


The Met Office warning ran from 8 pm on Sunday to 4 am on the next day as well. According to the Met office, heavy showers and thunderstorms were expected across South West England on Sunday.


A few places may witness 20mm to 30mm of rainfall in less than an hour. Some areas might not see rain at all.
According to the forecasters frequent lightning, hail and locally gusty winds may accompany stronger thunderstorms, particularly across southwestern parts of England and Wales. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is a possibility.


Temperatures are expected to be around average but variable over this period. The Met Office has stated that Towards the end of the period, the rainfall is likely to die out, leading to many areas becoming a little drier. However, the possibility of showering in some places cannot be denied.


This year’s weather condition has been additionally difficult with heatwaves and temperatures over 40C. The rains have become a common thing after these devastating rains but the flooding and additional power cut have made the situation even worse. The weather forecast in the UK has proven to be really accurate.

Heavy downpour in the city has caused the citizens to adopt habits that have not been hitherto required. During the heatwave, many citizens had to learn to swim and be safe. There have been reports of people dying due to overheating.
