Tibet restricting tourists visit for ultra luxury tourism

Tibet will get new luxury hotel from TIN brand in 2020The administration of Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region undertakes to limit the number of international and local visitors in the scenic spots of Tibet, including Mount Qomolangma, known as Mount Everest in the West.

 

Qi Zhala, the chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region and a deputy to the 13th National People’s Congress, told the China National Radio (CNR) that Tibet will develop the high profile tourism.

 

Qi Zhala, the chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region also addressed that the number of international and national tourists will be strictly restricted at some of the popular scenic spots as they introduced a cap of 5,000 visitors for the Patala Palace in summer.

 

Tibet is the mountainous region covered with scenic beauty and Buddhist monasteries. Here tourism is the main channel for the opening-up of the economic development of Tibet and the main force to improve residents’ lives. But developing tourism must stick to the bottom line of environmental protection. Tibet will build more airports and highways and open more airlines for the development of high profile tourists.

 

The regional government of Tibet in order to boost the ultra luxury tourism and for the increase of tourism economy, has launched a winter tourism promotion program where it is offering free admission to 115 major tourist attractions in the region, including the Potala Palace, from February 1 to April 30, plus discounted fares for hotels, local transport, flights and train services.
