Tirupati soon to be developed as a superior quality railway station

Tirupati railVinod Kumar Yadav who is the General Manager of South Central Railway mentioned on Tuesday that the South Central Railway would be developing the railway station of Tirupati at a cost of Rs. 400 crore to minimize congestion and improve passenger amenities in the railway station.

 

He went on to state that the Railways had enough funds for the construction of rail-over bridges, escalators, foot-over-bridges and also lifts inside the railway station.

 

He said that the SCR was receiving representations from the people and political leaders in this regard.

 

After the completion of meeting with MPs from the State, the General Manager had addressed a media conference here.

 

He asserted that Tirupati railway station would be developed in an area of about six lakh square feet at a cost of around Rs. 400 crore to transform it into a high-class railway station.

 

He feels that one more platform would be constructed at the railway station to meet the great rush of passengers.

 

And he also said that SCR would be constructing 200 foot-over bridges, 100 lifts in the railway stations inside the SCR zone. He went on to add that 58 rail-over bridges under various stages of construction. And he also mentioned that the department is ready to create the ROBs according to the requirements of the people.

 

He said that the railways is giving priority to improve passenger amenities like the construction of escalators, lifts and more.
