TKS the organiser of ITE Hong Kong 2020 announced that the show will be postponed to August 6th to 9th in the same venue, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The announcement came after the evening regulation imposing arrival quarantine between March 19 and June 18, within 24 hours on March 19.
TKS has been preparing contingency plans for different scenarios as China and Hong Kong has been reporting daily sharp rise in imported cases in recent times.
On March 18 in China there were 34 imported cases and zero local infection, between March 5 and 18 in Hong Kong 81 of the 88 new cases were imported.
Countries with deteriorating situation imposed travel restriction or arrival quarantine.
There are still signs of recovery this year even though the outbound recovery push back likely to post summer.
Last month hundreds of buyer and trade visitor applications within days after the promotion started.
According to a post-outbreak survey in China 60 % respondents will still consider travelling this year while 13 % will not and 45% travel abroad. Thousands of Hong Kong residents joined hundreds of outbound tour group to Asia, Europe and Africa during the February and March outbreak.
ITE 2020 is designated as the Recovery Edition and the focus this year will be on measures that ensure health and hyginene, handling contingency and attractiveness of their products,
