Egypt is looking for more attention on creating tourist and heritage attractions that would help achieve sustainable growth in finances and improve life quality for the citizens, said Hisham Amna on Monday, Local Development Minister in Zhengzhou, China, In a speech at the opening session of the International Mayors’ Forum on Tourism, Amna made these statements which was held until Wednesday.
He said that the government of Egypt has been distributing resources to set up the much-required infrastructure in cities with these sites.
The state has adopted comprehensive measures and introduced important campaigns over the past decade to improve the sustainability of the cities, said Amna.
He stated that the government was all devoted to capitalize on the profits of the natural and cultural heritage in all tourist cities to attain sustainable goals related to tourism in augmenting financial feasibility
and social justice at the local level.
Also, the minister touched on the extraordinary trials that impend their heritage cities like climate change and fast urbanization.
Amna also added that all of this has created immense pressure on their cities, particularly with fast growth, dearth of planning, mobbing, smog, incompetent infrastructure, and shortage of investments in sustainable urban development. All of these represent huge burdens on their cities.
