To provide a comfortable experience for tourists and boosting sale of local handicrafts at the same time, On Thursday, Jai Ram Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, introduced ‘Apna Kangra’ app and hampers handcrafted by self help groups at Dharamsala in the district.
He explained the main purpose of ‘Apna Kangra’ in empowering rural women and offer opportunities related to new job offers to youth through tourism and helping hotels, homestays and transport to travellers.
For tourists, he said that the app will provide an exclusive experience on the one hand and it will serve as an e-marketing platform on the other for SHG products from the district.
Also, Thakur declared that to all retired employees of the Himachal Pradesh State Education Board, the facility of medical reimbursement will be extended. The effort will cost the exchequer Rs 1.61 crore annually. It will benefit more than 750 retired employees, he said.
Thakur also emphasized that this facility was stopped by the earlier government to all Board pensioners since April 2014.
Also, the chief minister inaugurated Radhe Krishna Cow Sanctuary virtually which is located at Luthan in Jawalamukhi Vidhan Sabha area of Kangra. The sanctuary is constructed at a cost of Rs 3.96 crore and can accommodate 1,000 cattle.
