To recover tourism, Singapore government allocates 500 million Singapore dollars

On Wednesday, Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Singapore, has declared at the Tourism Industry Conference that the government has allocated 500 million Singapore dollars to enhance the tourism industry and its revival process.


Singapore will take a few more years for international travel to get back fully to the pre-covid times situation but that in the immediate term, the country requires to speed up the improvement process of the tourism, the Straits Times quoted Tan as saying.


Singapore will differentiate itself from other places, by focusing on creating attractions and events with sustainability, and business tourism, said Keith Tan, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) chief executive on Wednesday.


Of late, Singapore has opened its international borders to completely vaccinated travelers without the requirement of COVID-19 testing or quarantine.
