Tourism Australia, Singapore Airlines ink 3-year marketing agreement

A three-year marketing contract between Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines has been inked to promote corporate travel to Australia.


To promote Australia as the best location for business gatherings, Tourism Australia and SIA will work together to implement a variety of marketing and promotional trade activities in Asia and the United Kingdom, as per the MOU.


Prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Australia’s business events industry performed well, bringing in 1.04 million visitors and generating A$4.5 billion in revenue for the year ending December 31, 2019.


JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines said, “Australia has always been an attractive and popular destination for both leisure and corporate travellers, and Singapore Airlines remains firmly committed to keep Australia connected to the world.”


He added, “With our 111 weekly services between Singapore and seven points in Australia, coupled with our extensive passenger network, we are pleased to support efforts in promoting business events travel to Australia.”


The news supports current Tourism Australia business events activities, including the newly launched brand campaign for business event ‘There’s Nothing Like Australia for Business Events’, which was just launched in Greater China recently. The campaign makes use of a fresh creative approach that demonstrates how Australia offers not just what you may anticipate from a location for business events, but also much more.

Business events are incredibly valuable to Australia’s visitor economy and strategic partnerships such as this, help to secure future business for Australia,” said Andrew Hogg, Tourism Australia’s Executive General Manager of Eastern Markets and Aviation


With the recently announced Business Events Australia Asia Mega Family Showcase, which will be held in April with host city partner BESydney, and Tourism Australia’s incentive showcase Dreamtime, which will be held in November 2023 with host city partner Business Events Adelaide, Tourism Australia is also stepping up its business events distribution activity, giving qualified planners, agents, and media the opportunity to experience Australia firsthand.
