Tourism Australia’s chief John O’Sullivan quits

Published on : Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Tourism Australia’s chief John O’Sullivan has quit after five years in charge, promoting the country in the global stage.

Mr. O’Sullivan will leave to become the chief executive and executive director of the ASX-listed company Experience Co., staying in the tourism domain.

Mr. O’Sullivan said, “It’s with mixed emotions that I now move on, but I feel I’m leaving the organisation in a really good position. Australian tourism is performing well, with international arrivals and spending both at record levels. We’ve reshaped our marketing narrative.”

Tourism Australia’s regional general manager Phillipa Harrison will be the interim managing director until a permanent replacement is found.
