Tourism contributes immensely behind the economic development of Da Nang

Tourism has turned out as one of the main contributors behind the development of the central Da Nang city’s socio-economic condition, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh.

 
The tourism sector has helped in endorsing Da Nang’s images, giving a major facelift to the city, generating more job opportunities, and improving the environment and living conditions of the locals, he said.

 
Bui Dao Thai Truong, Project Director of Germany’s Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, advised that Da Nang should arrange more tourism events along with roadshows and fairs as rising connectivity with travel agencies and airlines, training foreign languages for local tour guides, and utilizing social networks to endorse tourism.

 
He also advised that local authorities aim on middle and long term policies like improving transport, promoting eco-tourism close to various seaports and developing unique tourism products that are friendly to the environment.

 
Also, the city requires perking up tourism infrastructure and developing human resources, he recommended.

 
Other experts suggested Da Nang to join with the Asian-Pacific region in the coming years by increasing low-cost flights, drawing middle-class travelers, and developing adventure and medical tourism.

 
Da Nang is a well-known tourist destination in central Vietnam. Airbnb, the online marketplace and hospitality service published a list of the world’s top 10 destinations for this year, in which Da Nang ranked fifth in booking surges of up to 255 percent.
