Tourism department set to promote rural tourism all over J&K

The Department of Tourism is introducing numerous steps to endorse rural tourism all over Kashmir Division.
Dr. GN Ittoo, Director Tourism J&K, mentioned this while he was chairing a meeting in this aspect. Deputy Director Tourism Registration, Deputy Director (M&W) and other senior officials of the department took part in the meeting.

The Director of Tourism was speaking in the meeting and explained that when it comes to rural tourism sector, J&K has huge possibility and there is tremendous urgency to review on spot feasibility and tourism potential of these areas.

Dr. Itoo said that the rural areas are in need to get selected as new touristic attractions so that the people of these areas are profited from the process of tourism. He has also added that rural tourism is one of the major options before us to fortify rural economy.

The Director urged the officers under rural tourism to include villages in such a way that fresh and non-polluting environment, traditions, village handicraft, village folk dance and music, painting and sculpture, history of the region, nature of local work and technology use, architecture, education system, religion, dress, leisure activities and other connected things can draw visitors from outside.
