Tourism incurred Rs. 4,000 crore in losses, says state minister

On Thursday, 17th Sep, 2020, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Jai Ram Thakur stated that the tourism sector industry of HP has undergone a major loss of almost Rs. 4,000 crores due to the pandemic.


While speaking to the media, the state CM explained that the government has evaluated the loss and is keeping no stones unturned to provide a respite to the people affected in tourism.


To quote Thakur, “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry in the state has suffered a loss of around Rs 4,000 crores. We have asses the losses and for the revival of the industry, the state government is trying to provide relief to the affected people.”


Also, the CM wished the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi on his birthday.
