Tourism ministry all set draw World Cup tourists to Egypt

Within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ eagerness to make the most of the tourism benefit of Egypt during the FIFA World Cup of 2022 which started yesterday in Qatar and will continue till 18th December, many facilities have been taken on to draw enthusiasts taking part in the tournament to Egypt.


These facilities comprise permitting those given a ‘Haya Visa’ to visit Egypt during and after taking part at the tournament.


The Deputy Minister for Tourism Affairs, Ghada Shalaby, recently mentioned in a statement that synchronization was made as well with the Chamber of Tourism Establishments in few cities of Egypt to provide discounts on the prices of accommodation declared online for visa holders.


The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, also declared Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities decision to have the same opinion to grant a 50% reduction to Haya card holders during the tournament on the fees for visiting the historical sites and museums associated with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, opened for visits, bringing it down to the prices of a student ticket.


Within the framework to initiate an added push for more incoming tourist movement to the Egyptian tourist destination, these facilities were incorporated and benefit from the World Cup to support companies related to tourism and aviation to organize trips from Qatar and surrounding countries to Egypt.
