In Uttarakhand, the hotel owners, traders, priests and others connected with the Yamunotri Dham have burnt state government effigies on Tuesday. These acts were committed protesting against the government’s decision to restrict the pilgrim numbers and make their registrations mandatory.

They protested in Barkot Naga here, requesting that the government should leave behind its decisions.
To the Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, they have sent a memorandum through the District Magistrate, explaining that their decisions would impact their livelihoods in a negative manner.

In the meantime, the Uttarakhand government has sought the approval of the Centre to Rs. 500-crore scheme for intensifying and developing health services on the routes of Char Dham Yatra.

In a meeting on Tuesday, a comprehensive Project Report of the scheme was confirmed in Dehradun.

The State Health Minister, Dhan Singh Rawat, after the meeting, stated that the report for approval has been sent to the centre.
