Tourism players relying heavily on vaccine

The Famagusta tourism development and promotion company will make the use of Facebook and Instagram to draw visitors to the area in 2021 as they rely heavily on a vaccine.

The concept of internet promotion came in as the company was keen on finding new and effective ways to draw tourists as this year witnessed international tourism exhibition cancellation due to the pandemic, on Tuesday, company official, Lakis Avraamides told the Cyprus News Agency.
“The advertising campaign will launch by mid-March and will last for about two months,” Avraamides said.

The company will develop videos which they will promote in certain traditional tourism markets like the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Scandinavian countries. “The epidemiological situation of these countries will obviously be taken into account at the time of screening,” he said.

As per Avraamides, tourism operators are relying heavily on the vaccine.
“It will be important for Cyprus if the first countries to receive the vaccine with positive results would be the countries that are major tourist markets for the island,” he added.
