Tourism potential of Indonesia recognized after 32nd SEA Games

The experts of tourism have praised the outstanding development in relations between Indonesia and Cambodia, the biggest and most crowded countries in Southeast Asia. They provided common friendship and helpfulness that was exhibited during the 32nd SEA Games arranged in Cambodia as evidence to this.

Indonesia beat U22 football team, the highly rated Thai men soccer squad on the night of May 16 in the final match of the games to grab the gold. With a 5-2 score, the tense match ended though it got spoiled because of hostility. Not only it took 120 minutes to decide the winner but also saw maximum red cards ever handed out in a local match like this.

The Indonesian athletes, after their victory, showed thankfulness to their organizers by singing a song. To the Indonesians, this event was enormously important with the country’s president taking out his precious time to watch the competition.

He also said that Indonesia waited for long 32 years to pick up the trophy of the SEA Games champions. When the triumphant Indonesian games team came home, a street procession was organized, with thousands of Indonesians rejoicing and observing the victory.

Sinn Chanserey Vutha, undersecretary of state and spokesman for the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, on May 21st informed The Post that the excited cheers of the team for Indonesia after their victory of the football match had a positive effect on the way the two countries viewed one another.
