Tourists are taking pleasure in everything that Ulster County has to offer.

The county symbolizes 44 percent of all visitations to the Catskills, with visitor spending surging 129 percent compared to 2019, in keeping with the newest data from I Love NY Tourism.

Hotel habitation taxes collected by the county amplified 65.2 percent compared to that of 2019, thereby setting an all-time record of more than $3.3 million.

Tourism has also made a constructive impact on the economy with sales tax collections going up by 27.1 percent in 2021 and 121.5 percent compared to 2019.

The income from tourism provides financial support for reasonably priced housing projects, mental health services, emergency services among others, said the county officials.

The Ulster County Tourism Department has also received two 2022 New York State Tourism Excellence Awards, which are: Excellence in Overall Tourism Marketing: “Seek for Yourself” Campaign, and Excellence in Tourism Marketing Campaigns, Projects & Programs: Creative Use of Data to Drive Success.

The tourism department has also unveiled a new website: visitulstercountyny.com
