Tourism WA has appointed Elite Representation Asia Pacific (Elite) as its trade marketing engagement representative on Australia’s east coast, following an open tender process. Elite is a sales and marketing representation company with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, giving Western Australia representation and a presence in each city.
The company is owned and operated by Pat Monneron, who is very familiar with Western Australian and the tourism industry having started his career with Tourism WA in 1987. He worked in various roles in the agency’s Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney offices. Pat also has extensive experience working with hotels groups, particularly promoting them to leisure and corporate trade.
Elite’s representation in Sydney is Claude Person while Michelle Gatzoubaros is based in Melbourne. Both have a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the travel and hotel industries.
Elite will focus on increasing the distribution of WA product through key partners including travel agents, wholesalers and online travel agents to ensure more WA products are sold as part of travel packages to interstate visitors.
The team will focus on improving the trade’s destination and product knowledge Perth and Western Australia through a comprehensive trade strategy including an annual roadshow.
It will also help build on the success of Tourism WA’s recent trade shows including the Helloworld Global Stars, Virgin Global Sales conference and ATEC Meeting Place.
