Dominica is open for business again after the ravages of Hurricane Maria last September – and it wants travellers to see how the island and its people have got back on their feet. After being hit by Hurricane Maria last year, Dominica is open for business and wants the travellers to visit the island.
The ReDiscover Dominica campaign was launched by the Discover Dominica Authority and the hotels and businesses were offered incentives to encourage the visitors to come back. The country will be back on its path to recovery and the visitors can contribute to the local economy.
The Caribbean destination tourism officials are extensively working with partners on negotiating deals in accommodation and other activities. Including the UK the campaign is due to run in all of Dominica’s major markets , its core promotion provides the guests agents one night free for a minimum of four-night at nine participating hotels. Horse-rising, island tours, underwater experiences, spa services and duty-free shopping will be provided.
On departures between July1 and October 14, November 9 and December 15 before MotMot Travel(tour operator) is offering the ReDiscover Dominica promotion before August 31. The Discover Dominica wants to turn the island into the world’s ‘first climate change-resilient nation’.
It will be implementing ‘less reliant’ sustainable tourism strategy on natural resources post being affected by Hurricane Maria.
